After all these years, I am now realizing that the Tele is the ultimate guitar. My first guitar was a Kramer Striker, then an Ibanez, Fender, Gibson, ESP, Music Man, Valley Arts, Takamine.... Been though many. Long story short the only guitar that I have keep for over 18 yrs now is my ESP Tele. Its just works. When traveling to Japan, I simply removed the neck and stick the whole guitar into my carry-on backpack. (with the strings still attatched). I recently discovered how nice the Flying V feels between my legs. But, after a long days of work a nice contoured body custom Tele is my choice. Contoured as in the one like Jeff Beck's old Esquire. The market has changed alot since the last time I was really into guitars. There as so many small time luthiers creating unique Telecasters. Linhof, Danocaster, Rock N' Roll Relics, K-Line, Nash, Big Tex, Glendale, Rice, most featuring Fender-ish vintage replicas. I am back. Been away from the whole guitar thing for the last 15 yrs. The quest begins. Got an early Wayne Charvel, "Rising Sun", a nice Gibson Zakk Wylde V and a Linhof Tele Special to begin with. What's next? Maybe a Les Paul Custom. I used to have a late 60's Les Paul Custom that I bought from George Lynch in 1992. Sold it in 1994. What a mistake that was. Its in Japan somewhere. BTW just got a call from Gary Brawer's shop. (He's Joe Satriani's long time guitar tech). I sent in my Gibson Zakk Wylde V for a setup. I had issues with the high "E" string slipping off of the fretboard. Hope she screams.... METAL!
