It's not everyday you encounter a true beauty. Lets just start with the shape. An arched top Random Star with a Danelectro Headstock. How sick can this guitar get. Akira Takasaki (Loudness) always loved the way the guitar looked since Eddie Van Halen's emergence. Now, take a close look at the graphic design. Even a Koi-kichi would glance at this beauty and take a step back. The more I stare at this the more I think. There is something missing. The body should be stained white. The Koi should be a "Tancho". Koi with a red head patch are called "Tancho." Most common are "Tancho Kohaku (all-white Koi with Tancho)," "Tancho Sanshoku (white Koi with Sumi similar to Shiro Bekko, and with Tancho)," and "Tancho Showa (Showa Sanshoku without red markings except for Tancho)".
This guitar was created by ESP Guitars, started off as a parts company here in Japan. With the help of George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob, Souls Of We), they became a powerhouse back in the 80's. George Lynch wears a Koi Tattoo on his inner right forearm. He's know for his Tiger Guitar for the last 25 plus yrs. Why not a GL custom Koi guitar? George has been using a '58 Esquire and a Linhof Special lately. So, here is my prediction. An ESP George Lynch Telecaster with Koi Graphics. What do you guys think?
