Be there by 11:15 AM to get the first round of seating. If you miss the first round you'll spend about 35 min in line waiting for the initial batch of customers to leave. Santa Ramen in San Mateo California is pretty simple. For lunch all they serve is Ramen. Three to choose from. Shoyu, Miso, and Pork. About 15 additional toppings are available ranging from Curry, Code Egg, Wakame, Kimchi, and their specialty "Stewed Pork". Since they pack on the toppings, its wise to order them as side dishes. A large Sapporo, Pork Ramen, with Egg, and Fresh Seaweed, is what I got today. Ramen Head rates it 2.5 out of 5. Did they change the noodles? Not sure but it was different. Across the parking lot is Nijiya Market. I get most of my meats and Japanese vegetables there so Santa Ramen is a quick way to satisfy my cravings for Ramen. More of my usual goto Restaurants to come.
